Slab Wood and Iron Table

The slab was atop uninspired and out of scale legs.
The base was originally used with three gas burners in an apartment size stove.
When I got the base it had a steel plate and a grinder attached.  The grinder went to a friend and the plate to the scrap pile.

This console table was assembled from pieces bought at a couple of different auctions.  The top is a piece of slab oak with a live edge.  I counted rings and the tree was over 100 years old when it was cut.  The base is cast iron with great Queen Anne legs and traces of silver and red paint.  It was a gas stove in an earlier life.
