A birds eye view.
The top is planted with annuals. Remember chicken feeders are deep so you dont want to fill the entire cavity with soil. Crumple up newspaper to fill most of the planter...you only need about the top third for soil.
I love the combo of hot pink, bright green, and the galvanized.
The grass adds a lush base to the planter.
You can group this with other vintage planters...or you can hang it from a tall step ladder like my friend Amy Nolfo-Bingley likes to do!

This is the secon in my littel series of easy, peasy wheat grass planters. I have always loved chicken feeders as planters, but I think adding the grass makes them evn more special.
