Tout Finis!! All done and showing her fine self off to some friends letting me use their nice clean house for a shoot :)
The before - ewwwwww nassssssty
The original side. Rusty and chippy trunk had no love!
After some elbow grease, a wire brush and some clear coat
Covered in a nasty mildew filled canvas. That had to go STAT!
Under the canvas - this is where I started to hesitate - but seriously - this is me we are talking about. Who are we kidding really... GAME ON!
The old rusty wheels. They also needed to go. They didnt even roll..... just made some wretched, crunchy, death noise when I tired haha
Removing the paper lined interior was a BREZZE! I simply used a Shark Steamer and blasted it with a little heat. It melted off like butter!
adding shelving inside.
New interior! Muuuuuch Better!
Here you can see - sort of - that when I did the lower shelf, I raised it slightly off of the bottom and did not adhere the shelves. This allows for a hidden storage underneath the faux bottom - for you know - stashing away those millions!

Wowzas! What an overhaul this beast had! Like I mention in one photo - I hesitated at one point thinking I was over my head but thought - who are we kidding... this is me - GAME ON!
After a LOT of mildew removal, elbow grease, stain and of course blood, sweat and tears, she was ready for a shoot!

MelBrandle writes: Trunks make perfect furniture pieces which are not only sturdy as a table or a drawer, but they provide an ample amount of storage space as well which is highly essential on every corner of the house. Hence, I think a combination of these features is really necessary to create the perfect piece. Posted: 11:08 pm on February 24th
