NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Entries for this “Junkyard Dog Collar Contest” (the “Contest”)
will be accepted during the period beginning at 12:01 p.m. ET on December
11, 2008 and ending at 12:01 p.m. ET on December 24, 2008 (the “Contest
Entry Period”). All entries must be received during the Contest Entry
Period. The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States
and Canada (except Quebec), who are at least 18 years old. Contest void
in Quebec, Puerto Rico and anywhere else where prohibited.
TO ENTER: Participants must enter a photo that they photographed
to www.junkmarketstyle.com/contest/make-your-own-dog-cat-collar (the “Website”). At the Website, participants
will be required to complete an online entry form, and follow the prompts
to enter their name, e-mail address, a brief description of their junkyard
dog collar (800 character limit) and upload an image of their entry.
All entries become the property of the Sponsor (hereinafter defined)
and will not be returned.
All Participants must comply with these Official Rules. The Website
is governed by the Taunton Press Privacy Policy, which is available
at the Website.
All entries will be reviewed before being judged; however, such review
does not relieve participants from the responsibility of complying with
these Official Rules. Entries that do not comply with these Official
Rules as determined by the Sponsor will be disqualified and will not
be considered as a finalist (hereinafter defined) and/or any prizes.
The Sponsor makes the final determination as to which entries are eligible
to take part in the Contest and be considered for any prizes. From time
to time during the Contest Entry Period, the Sponsor may, in its sole
discretion, choose to feature some of the submitted projects on the
Website. Being featured on the Website is unrelated to the Judging Criteria
(hereinafter defined) and in no way reflects the possibility of the
entry being selected as a Prize winner.
The Sponsor is not responsible for unavailable networks, failed server
or other connections, miscommunications, interrupted, misrouted or scrambled
transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind whether mechanical,
human, electronic or otherwise. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility
for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any
failure of the Website during the contest period, for any problems or
technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line
systems, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of
any e-mail entry to be received by the Sponsor due to technical problems
or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, of any combination
thereof including any injury or damage to a participant’s or any other
person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading
any material related to the contest. The Sponsor reserves the right,
in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Contest should a
virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor
corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt
to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation
of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should
such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies
and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal
prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared
invalid if they are illegible, forged, falsified, altered or tampered
with in any way. The Contest Rules are subject to the interpretation
of the Sponsor, and all decisions related thereto are final.
PRIZES/VALUES:
1ST PRIZE: One copy of Junk Beautiful- 5 Room-by-Room Makeovers
with JUNKMARKET Style SIP and one copy of Junk Beautiful- How to Turn
Flea Market Finds into Unique Décor DVD (total ARV $12.99), distributed and sold as a package only.
The total approximate retail value of all the prizes is: $12.99 U.S (ARV). The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize
for a prize of equal or greater value.
Names of prize manufacturers are used solely for the purposes of
identifications of the prize. The Sponsor will be solely liable for
fulfilling the Prizes.
TERMS/CONDITIONS: All federal, state/provincial and local laws
and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. Prizes are non-transferable
and not redeemable for cash. Each winner will be responsible for all
applicable federal, state/provincial, and local taxes related to any
prize. The Sponsor shall not be responsible for any unsuccessful attempts
to notify the winners. Employees, officers, and contractors (including
immediate family members and members of the same household) of the Sponsor,
affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, dealers, retailers,
vendors of the Sponsor, and all other entities associated with this
promotion, are not eligible. Each participant agrees to release and
hold the Sponsor, its employees, officers, directors, shareholders,
agents, representatives, and their subsidiaries, parent companies, or
other affiliated companies harmless from any and all damages, losses,
claims and/or liabilities arising out of his or her participation in
the Contest or resulting from accepting or claiming any prize awarded
hereunder. Unless indicated otherwise by checking the opt-out box on
the Website, participants acknowledge and agree that the Sponsor may
share personal information collected through the Contest from time to
time with their subsidiaries, parent companies and affiliated companies,
and that such information shall be used to contact participants for
advertising and promotional purposes.
Notwithstanding the foregoing paragraph, participation in the Contest
constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) for the Sponsor
to use any winner’s name, likeness, biographical information, photographs
and any statements or remarks made about winning or participating in
the Contest for advertising and promotional purposes (in any medium)
without additional compensation. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO GRANT SUCH PERMISSION,
DO NOT ENTER THE CONTEST.
WINNING: Judging Criteria. Among all qualified entries received,
the judging organization (the “Judges”) shall select One (1) First
Prize winner based on the criteria listed below on or about December
24, 2008.
Entries shall be judged subjectively as follows:
a. Adherence to Theme 50%
b. Quality of Submission 50%
No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. Winners
will be notified within 14 days of selection by telephone, mail or email.
You may enter up to three times but only one prize per person, household, or family.
CLAIMING PRIZES: Each winner must sign and return an Affidavit
of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within thirty (30) days
of notification, or his or her prize may be forfeited (except where
prohibited by law). Prizes will be delivered to each winner’s residence
within thirty (30) days of receiving the Affidavit of Eligibility and
Liability/Publicity Release. Winners will also be required to
provide proof of age.
