Bonnie and Clyde bar in its new home.
Vintage apartment mail boxes. Added custom Cor-Ten steel lightboxes and structure to wall hang.
Light boxes will continue to corrode naturally over time.
The glass has a 3M coating added for safety and strength.
Stay thirsty my friends.
The cabinet and bar both have a great patina that I wanted to save. Including the bash in the Bonnie and Clyde bar.

This was a project that pretty much dictated to me what it was going to become. When it became apparent that liquor bottles fit in the mail slots it was a done deal. I built the cabinet first fashioning light boxes out of recycled Cor-Ten steel. Cor-Ten rusts over time and becomes its own proitective coating. It can also be accelerated with a mild acid wash.

After I hung it on the wall it begged for a bar to go with it... I got lucky snooping around a garage and found this 20's windshield with its main hinge and wiper still intact! Again the item dictated shat it was to become and there you have it, the Bonnie and Clyde bar.

In a dark room it has a great glow and the shadow created by the cracked glass is pretty cool. Useful and great to look at.

I appreciate the kind words, and yes we do have great junk up here! Posted: 6:38 pm on November 25th
