Take the Challenges: Encourage Others and Toot Your Own Horn!!December 12th, 2013 in blog, projects
I've noticed something lately. As this site grows (and I am so happy it does) the less comfortable people become with commenting. When the site was smaller everyone seemed to know each other and I think it's about time we re-create that family feel. This is all about growing pains....and we can work through this together.
Challenge # 1: All old members please look through the posts and welcome a new member...JUNKMARKET Style. I will do the same.
Challenge # 2: Find a member post that has slipped through the cracks and comment on their post. I will do the same.
Challenge # 3: Step out of your circle. Reach out to someone you don't usually follow. I will do the same.
The Project Challenge!
Mason Jars...a junker's staple. Your challenge is...drum roll please... to create something from a Mason jar for the holidays that is not a candleholder or a light fixture. I don't care what color your jar is or how many you use....just be yourself.
You will hav until December 15th to submit your challenge project. While projects are being posted I encourage you to look through the site and comment on other challenge submissions.
After the 15th I would ask that all email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and vote for your favorite project. Please put "Challenge Vote" as the subject. I will tally the votes and the project receiving the most votes will receive an autographed book from me. Editors and contributors are encouraged to post projects, but only member projects can be voted on. This is not meant to be a win/lose situation...just an exercise in creativity and friendship.
I am so proud to be a member on this site and am looking forward to seeing all of your creative works!! Let the fun begin. Remember to reach out and greet someone new. This is what the holiday season is all about!
After you make it, show it off to other members in the Member Junk area.
