It’s a beautiful October day in New England for pumpkin pickin.
This antique birdbath, with its Doric column, has been a fixtue in the front yard since 1941. Every fall it becomes a pedistal for an old gavanized bucket filled with mums.
An abandoned bird nest was found lying in a pile of leaves. It kind of has a spooky look to it.

The small trellis I built above the French doors is a great place for pumpkins.
Here’s one of two flowerboxes I constructed that are attached to the cedar fence. The 1950s glider, on the right, is an estate sale find.
The lattice adds a little detail.
BEFORE: 1950s
This is what my house looked like in the 1950s. I wish the old car was still in the driveway!
AFTER: 2010
Theres been a few improvements since this photo was taken, like the cedar fence and flowerboxes, which I installed in 2011.
