Flipped upside down, a salvaged piece of baseboard turns into a coat rack with the addition of decorative hooks. The narrow ledge of moulding provides a great spot to display knick knacks.

Branch writes: Love it! Am having a house built now and will retrieve scrap pieces of baseboard to expound upon your idea with the baseboard being used in my house. It's not as lovely as your salvaged piece, but I believe something awesome can be made from the pieces for the mud room nonetheless. Thanks for sharing and giving me food for thought.
