I love a piece that can have multiple uses.  Looks like Jazzy likes it, too!
I purchased this piece at an occassional sale.  Its a hay rack.  But I see so many uses for it!
Originally parts of this piece were red.  As a lot of red doesnt work with my decor, I spray painted over the red parts.  A little distressing allows just a portion to show, and takes away the newly painted look. I think it works great!
Its first use?  A coffee table!
Im loving all the different textures in this vignette.  The linen in the book, the rust on the toy plane and the silver metal are a perfect combo!
My next use?  A side table!
The side of the piece (or is it the bottom) was rusting.  So after spray painting and sanding the piece, it has even another texture to it.  I am just loving all the different elements on it!
And my last use?  Drum roll, please?  In its originally position it makes a great planter/wall hanging.  Here I have it on the floor with twigs, but on a wall with pine in the basket and pointsettias on the shelf at Christmas would be fabulous!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to find that piece that not only can be used for it's intended use, but has a plethora of other uses (I love that word!).  This just happens to be one of those pieces!

CottageElements writes: Hi, Gmajunk! I noted it under the second picture down on the top left where you can maybe tell it's original purpose. It was a hay rack. It was used to hang on a wall and feed the horses. I've seen these before, but never with the metal on the back, which worked perfect for the top of the coffee table. It was an awesome find with little I had to do to it. I love those kinds of projects!

CottageElements writes: Thanks y'all. And Jim, coming from you, I feel honored :-) I do have to say what I paid for it was a down right steal. I felt like I should pay for it and run! Ha! And couldn't believe the people that had passed it up. Good gracious, don't they know cool when they see it? :-)
