NASCAR AW 300 Trophy
February 3rd, 2013 in member junkI was commissioned to design & build the trophy for the AW 300 NASCAR Race: had about a week & a half to get it done & shipped :) The race was sponsored by the NRA, & honored service men & women; so I designed the trophy with guns that are recognizable for military & police. The base is a wheel hub from a military helicopter, with rounds from the turret gun of an A-10 Warthog fighter jet. I also added dummy rounds on top to represent the 5 branches of the military, along with the stars on the decal. The trophy was constructed mostly from scrap aluminum, old spent rounds, & some thin sheet steel, along with hardware & lots of last minute panicked sweat, lol :) In the end, we got it done & shipped out just in time & the trophy was a big hit--hoping to be able to design one for the race next year ; )
