Let the junking begin!

Let the junking begin!

Hello junkers, we're glad you're here! Whether you are new to this site or are returning, we're very excited to present our new and very much improved site. It's easy to get started so jump on and let the sharing begin!

Here's how you do it.

1. Create your account. Click "register" at the top right of the page, and pick your screen name and password.

2. Create your pubic profile. This is where you tell the community about yourself. Fill in the blanks, choose an avatar or upload your photo.

3. Start posting

It's that easy!

What are the new perks?

Projects: Get all the latest from JUNKMARKET. Anytime there is a new project you'll see it front and center on the home page.

Hot Spots: Here's where you can go to plan your next junking adventure. Check back often for new places to junk.

My Junk: This is your own personal page. It will show all your contributions and comments to the site, as well as comments from not so secret admirers. No need to dig through all of the posts when all you need is a little pat on the back.

Member Junk: Take a look to see what other members have been up to and don't forget to share your very own junk creations! Posting pics is easy peazy, lemon squeezy. The re-sizing is done for you. Phew!

The BLOG: Writings from yours truly about anything and everything related to JUNK. Now that its soooo easy you'll be hearing from me more often.

JUNKMARKET: Keep up with the latest JM events and happenings.

Tags - Search and rescue is easy. If you are looking for something special type in a key word and see what you can find. Don't forget to tag your own posts!

Again, thanks for joining the fun. This is only the beginning...stay tuned for more updates.

Happy Junking,

Sue

You've done a great job with this site, thus far. As I mentioned to Sue, I constantly had problems with the old site and wasn't able to be involved on the level that I find I am able to be involved with this new and improved site.
It would be fun to be able to post members privately, as I am a pretty personable person and tend to talk back n forth with other members.
Thanks again for all of your hard work and efforts. I look forward to this site daily.

Your comments and concerns about PMing (personal messaging), a "General"-type tab, and other requests have been duly documented. We're checking to see if these things are possible.

Thanks for your questions--they only make the site a better place.

TheBlessedNest writes: I'm also feeling a bit blue...the change seemed so sudden, although I'm trying to get excited about seeing new projects from people, and I do like hearing from Sue more often! :) Maybe if there were a "General" page again, or something where we could ask questions/talk and form relationships. I miss that!

Thanks, Sue, for keeping the Junk comin'!! I do love to read your creative posts :)!

Blessings,
Stacey

suewhitney writes: Nancy,

Here is the scoop on member projects. The project pics from the old website were re-sized too small and not high enough quality for this site. Anyone who wants to re-post to this site can. It doesn't take much time because this site re-sizes pics for you bibbity-bobbity-boop! Nifty! I think we'll be seeing alot more posts because of this feature.

Take care,

It was SO much fun to see you girls at Oronoco. Don't think you're getting off the hook here, there are lots more pics to post and your beautiful faces will be up on the site. I think I'll entitle the blog "Girl's Just Wanna Have Fu-un"! Do you have specific info on the fundraiser? Love to do a blog on it. Let me know. Still wearing my bracelett, love it, thanks so much.

Take care,

Fjerda writes: Love the look of the new site. I want to thank Sue for spending time with the 3 Pfarkel sisters and our Sophie-Junker in Training (see Sue's other post)at Oronoco Gold Rush Days. Getting ready for the Trash to Treasure Breast Cancer Charity Auction this Fri. So, will post more next week and show some of the projects that we donated to the auction most of which are items we found at curb in town during city-wide cleanup day back in May. Is there an area where we can introduce ourselves/ exchange information about each other? The home page lists '97 new members with 6 of the latest to join with no way to see who else is there? I miss all the familure people from American Junk site. I'm grieving for the other while looking forward to this new site. I don't mind change but it feels like I've lost a family member. Anyone else out there feeling lost and confused?

LuAnn, I'm tickled pink about the new site! The thanks go to the many people behind the scenes who worked long hard hours to get this site up and running quickly and smoothly. I'll pass your message along to them, I'm sure they will appreciate it. Are you gatting the hang of it?

Mamapackrat, First of all your bio made me lol. I know the feeling. Welcome to the site, I can't wait to see what you have to share. Beautiful baby junker-in training btw, how old? Welcome!

Still getting introduced to the site as a whole and hope to master it shortly. Posted: 7:50 pm on August 18th
