This is the after.  Heavy mid-century printers galley cabinet. Very heavy industrial steel I salvaged from a defunct print shop warehouse.
All 200 brackets for the 100 trays required sanding and refinishing.
BEFORE: There are 100 9 x 13 trays to hold printers lead galleys, so each tray is heavy-weight industrial steel.
BEFORE: the numbers in their original condition. Normally Id leave them as is, but for some unexplainable reason this project called for a complete overhaul.
AFTER: the steel number panels in a hammered ivory finish. They are beautiful industrial touches and I love each little stamped number!
Side view of two-tone finish.

Not sure why I felt the need to completely refinish this old thing, maybe there just wasn't enough rust to make it beautiful!
Lots of elbow grease, patience, sandpaper, Bondo, filler primer, and paint went into this project, but I think it was worth it.

I won't use all 100 trays at once. I'll stagger them for bookshelves & displaying collectibles of different sizes & heights.  I just couldn't wait to place the trays before posting this project :^)
