rescued from the trash-gorgeous old picture

I found this on the ground in the trash pile this past Wednesday at the auction- this gorgeous old black and white picture of a woman in a white dress, resting. It's not a real photo, it's a cut out from a newspaper and is dated 1901. It was very fragile, and was falling apart just by being handled so I quickly framed it in a dollar store frame w/ black background to disguise the disintegrating edges a little bit.

 a cheap, but beautiful piece of art that cost me a buck!

shamrockerin writes: Thanks- I appreciate the comment! Wednesday is a day off for me, so I spend most of the day at the auction. The auction is 3 fields and a building of stuff, so at the end of the day, there's alot of stuff littering the area. I poke through everything that gets left behind, or sometimes I'll spend a minimal amount of money ($5 or under) on something special.

Do you always get things for free or $1.00? Just curious, as Lani and I were talking about it yesterday when we were out shopping and it was you that we were referring to. We were wondering how you did it? LOL You must hang out at an auction house and flea market. You keep the stuff others cast aside out of rejection and then you turn it into a wonderful and useful pc. for yourself. Very clever!
