A Junky Holiday Coaster Ornament

I wove a piece of ribbon (which I had to rummage around the house to find!) into the slits around the coaster rim. I borrowed a crystal from a candle holder I have and tada!...A gloriously simple ornament! Hung in the window, it catches the sunlight beautifully!
It all started with a tray and coaster set I picked up on my Junking Weekend, November 22-23? Its that silver set on the right with the star in middle of each of the four coasters and the tray.

WhisperWood Cottage writes: Wow! Thanks for the honor! And you are right, Sue! It is truly a simple project that anyone can do! In fact, it took all of 5 minutes. Ever since I did that project, I look at everything I come across and wonder, "How could I make this into an ornament?" If it's not moving, it just might end up on the tree!

suewhitney writes: Well, well, well....look who's at it again. Amy is a member that has been with us for some time dazzling us with her high style without the matching price tag ideas. This is such a great member feature because it is simply beautiful and simple to do. Even if someone is new to the art of re-purposing they could have great success with this project. Thanks so much Amy!

Cheers,

Kimberly...You are very welcome! You know I love JUNKMARKET and I believe in it what it (and all its contributors) stand for!

Gretchen...No, they are not marked. And, yes, we will definitely have to get together some time! I'll hold you to that! :)

MimiToria writes: Did you happen to notice if these coasters are marked sterling silver on them? I bought a set very similar this summer and they are sterling silver.
This is a great alternative use for the coasters. The sparkle with the glass, the star and the crystal addition just make it a perfect Holiday Season touch.
Have fun tomorrow with Lani. I wish I could join you, but my husband and I have plans to go the cabin for the day/night and than a family get together on Sunday. Maybe, I'll get to meet you one of these times yet, or Lani and I can make a trip up your way to visit.
