Repurposed WWII Military First Aid Storage Suitcase Table w/ Sewing Machine Base & Yardsticks
October 19th, 2012 in member junk
This military suitcase was used in WWII and then helped send a daughter off to college and back. I created the custom "First Aid" graphics on the top and painted them. After a little distressing I sanded down and painted the New Companion sewing machine iron base. I gave it several coats of fire engine red and then hand painted the New Companion letters on each side. I then cut a piece of plywood for the bottom of the suitcase, mounted the suitcase to the base and then installed custom distressed and painted yardsticks on the floor of the suitcase. And lastly, I installed chains on both sides to hold the suitcase lid open at the right angle when used for storage.

You are amazing. I love the balance of the red color with the army green. Your attention to detail is always evident and your sense of style is outstanding. Once again you have given us something that shows us your unique talent and your ability to use various junk pieces in a new a different way!
