Bird bath totem made from glass vases, a fish bowl, blue glass plates and a blue pie plate. The fish bowl has a hand blown blue glass swan inside. Hope the birds like it. You can see more of my glass creations and part of my studio in this picture.
Teapot, crock and ceramic lamp or candle shade totem.
Garden totem made from small colored bottles and glass plates. It is thin but 28 tall.
Unusual totem made from ugly ceramic pieces, flower pots and plates that I picked up at junk stores. The ceramic pieces were only a dollar each.
Tequila bottle totem. Was good to the last drop!

I have been making plate flowers and garden totems for about 9 months. It is addictive! I collect discarded glassware from thrift stores and flea markets. Small chips don't hurt and give them character. The big glass plates from a microwave make great bases and add stability. They hold up well in the garden and make striking center pieces.

I recently got a studio and have beem going "totem crazy" now that I have room to work. These are some of my totems that I have made recently. The tequila bottles did not come from thrift stores. I love cool tequila bottles. Sometimes the bottle is better than the tequila.  No need to waste perfectly good tequila bottles!
