Broken China Mosaic TableJuly 11th, 2012 in member junk
This is my first broken china mosaic project. The table was given to me. It is 32" in diameter. It was a mosaic that was coming apart. I removed all of the old tile and built up the foundation. I spray painted the legs and rim white.
I found 17 pieces of china at a thrift store for $7.00. What a deal! The pattern is Blue Onion by Oxford. I only broke 3 centers when I was cutting it up. Not bad for my first attempt. It took me 2 weeks to cut the tiles. I used some blue for accent and to replace the ones I broke. I laid it out 3 times before I was satisfied with the design. I used the direct set method as the blue tiles were thinner than the others.
I have a whole new respect for you mosaic artists. Thanks for all of the tutorials! It is a painstaking, tedious process but I want to do another.
