Cutie Patootie Party Glasses! Choosing to do a variety of coloured lids allows guests to distinguish which glass is theirs! Added bonus (aside from being super cute, fun and a conversation piece) No Spills and No Pesky little critters can sneak in for a berry refreshing swim in your drink!
Step one, prime then colour your mason jar lids. Choose to create a matching set using one colour, or have fun and create multiple colours so people can remember which glass was theirs. Remember to give them a quick hand washing with soap and water before using. It isnt recommended to put them in the dishwasher. The high pressure and heat may chip all of your paint off.
Step 2 - Get a sample straw and stick them over the drill bits. You want to find the closest bit thats is similar in size to your straw. Going one size bigger for your bit is fine, but making a hole too small wont be very beneficial ....  youll likely curse a lot once you try to use it and find you cant get the straw into your drink lol.
Last step, simply drill a hole where you want your straws to be. You may choose to do it off to one side, but I went with dead centre. I also chose to drill through all 10 lids at once. After you have your hole, make sure to wash them thoroughly to avoid any fine metal particles from getting into your drink. If you find that the hole didnt drill as smooth as you would like, simple pound the rough edges with a hammer to flatten them down. I drilled from the top down, so any exposed edge would be under the lid. Away from lips.

I was browsing the web one afternoon and saw an advertisement for a plastic "sippy cup" lid that can be attached to mason jars now to let people use them for a no spill, no bugs  drinking glass conversion piece. I sat staring at it puzzled as to why someone would spend money on something like that when clearly they just needed to take 5 minutes and make a little hole. Then the colours popped into mind, and in my head it looked like a fun idea that HAD to be done right that minute. I jumped up and said "seriously???". The hubby looked at me all puzzled, I returned 5 minutes later with the new mason jar (not coloured) turned the monitr around to show this plastic lid, VS my DIY lid and he then had that " OH I Get it" look on his face. I sat down with my new glass, and carried on browsing! We of course now have a nice set of colourful party glasses and every time someone comes over, they see them .... get that "A HA" look and generally say - "why have I never thought of that" or "that's so simplisticly brilliant" Or ..... " Hey, can you make me a set of 8 in yadda yadda colour" HAHA! Fun!!!!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce our newest JMS contributor, Jasmin Marisett of Gypsy Barn.

Jasmin comes to you live from Ontario, Canada and this is how she starts her JMS bio..."Im that crazy friend everyone has! The one that will do anything, try anything, talk to anyone and be the first to volunteer to make a fool of themselves!. All righty then...clearly my kind of girl! Talent plus a fun loving personality. Can we all say twofer together?!

Jasmin is kicking off our upcoming "Easy Peazy" project month of July here at JMS. I know its not quite July yet, but who's counting. This is a fun project that anyone can do in a jiffy. It also fits my 2 P's in a pod motto...pretty and practical! These little sippy cups would be perfect for your upcoming 4th of July gatherings or for any summertime get together.

Great project, Jasmin!!! Please help me give a great big welcome to Ms. Marisett...JMS style.

Make sure to check out Jasmin's profile to learn more about her and have a look see at her previous posts. I'm sure you will enjoy getting to know her,

Be Well,
