Allow me to introduce Shelby Logan, a budding young creative I was fortunate enough to meet at Vintage Marketplace in Springfield, Ohio. She is as lovely and kind as she is talented. You know what they say...The apple doesnt fall far from the tree! Teri, her Mom is the owner of Alley Cat Chic in Ohio and the ladies from her booth and the women from Annie Sloan paints were the best neighbors a girl could ever ask for. Thanks to all...it was a pleasure!!
Shelbys creation is named Mae, French for Goodness of Spring Growth. How appropriate!!
You know what i always say....its all in the details. This little lady did not miss a beat! I adore the colorway she selected for this piece as well as the combination of materials. Very insightful for a girl of only 16!
Organics, textiles, and paper create picture perfect pretty!!!
A view from the side. Mae does not have a bad side!
A little blue butterfly flutters in the torn paper skirt. How sweet it is!
The bodice is beautifully connected to the skirt. This is what I call a nice transition!
Shelby was kind enough to autograph her creation for me. I will treasure it forever! Its my favorite find from Vintage Marketplace. ....and thats pretty stiff competition!
A labor of love!
Shelby nailed this project right on the button. Is that a saying? Well if not....it is now!!!
Thank you so much Shelby for being an inspiration to others. I am so happy to have met you and I look forward to watching you grow. I can already tell that you are a leader and will encourage others your age to become a part of this fabulous vintage movement. Keep up the great work...you are a doll!!!

Most of you know that I am fresh off Vintage Marketplace in Springfield, Ohio...and what a show it was!!!  I am exhausted....in a very good way. So much to see and do! The entire event was amazing and the vendors...second to none!! While there I was taken by a young lady and her creation. Our industry needs to touch the youth and it appears that it has! Yay! I know that you will enjoy Shelby as much as I did!
