Chalkboard from the side of an old dresser.

Dismantled dresser turned chalkboard.

This was fun to make.  I had an old, wobbly dresser and no place to put it- so, I took it apart months ago- I'm completely unable to let go of old furniture pieces.  This is the side of the dresser.  I took off the back leg and replaced it with the other front leg.  I then resized a piece of trim from the front of the dresser and added it to the top of the board to give it a finished look.  I used elmers glue to give it a crackled paint look (not entirely successful) and made my own chalkboard paint with unsanded grout.

It's going to be my flea market message board.

I actually need something like this for shows that I do, but I don't have the parts to make it! Maybe someday I will!! Posted: 4:33 am on May 10th
