Old Frames and Old Photos

We used piping cord to make hangers for the photos. We attached the cords into the backs of the frames with thumbtacks.

We recently came across a bunch of old frames that needed to be saved. We took them home, cleaned them up, and painted them all white. Then, we attached string horizontally across the backs of the frames and hung old photographs on them.

The photos came from an antique store and are mostly portraits of a family between the 1920s and 1940s. There are some men in uniform, a photo of a girl in Japan, and lots of travelling stateside and snapping pictures. We don't know the family, and we never will, but the old photographs tell a story by themselves.
