Twin head/foot boards turned toddler bed
December 14th, 2008 in member junkSeveral months ago, while out and about at garage sales, my hubby & I found a twin head and footboard that appeared to have belonged to a set of bunkbeds at one time. They were oak and in great shape, so we bought them thinking we could use them to make an outdoor bench. Oh, but as happens, ideas change. Instead of a bench, we decided to make a toddler bed for our grandson - based on a suggestion from my big sister! We started by measuring his crib mattress and then my sister and hubby took it from there...it turned out to be a beautiful bed...let the staining begin!
Oh and the total cost was $30.00! $5.00 for the head & footboards and $25.00 in misc supplies and wood...not bad! I bet Pottery Barn kids will sell something like this for well over $100.00!
