Make-Up Collage Table
November 28th, 2008 in member junkA Beauty/Make Up Table Top Collage.
I made this side table for my daughter Vanessa, who is a Make Up Consultant. It was based on my love of magazine ads, their color and creativeness! I cut out my favorite make up Ads from Elle and In Style Magazines. I then soaked the ads in water to prepare them for the first step in the process. I had an old vintage table that I previously painted white and de-stressed (shabby chic style). I sanded the top and clean off the residue, then I arranged the make up Ads/pictures on the table and took a quick picture with my digital camera. I used basic Elmers glue and also bought a spray can of Polyurethane. Once the pictures were wet, I mixed a solution of 1 part water to two parts glue. I used a small paint brush and spreaded the mixture the back of the pictures and laid them in place (based on the earlier picture that I took). I then went over the pictures wtih the remaining mixture and let them dry over night. The next day, I sprayed the table with Polyurethane and two hours later sprayed it again. Once, again, I let the table dry overnight and afterwards it was a one of a kind beautiful side table ready to be used and appreciated!
