The muffin pans were the initial inspiration for these feeders.  The individual pockets were great for all kinds of bird seed.  Theres a drainage hole in the bottom of each cup.  I taped off the edges and the cup tops and painted the pan surface a complimentary color.
I came across a good many used traffic lens and they were the perfect roof I was looking for to keep things out of the elements more and the cast light is a great bonus!

The pewter cup suspended below acts as a counterweight for when the bigger birds come in for landing they dont jar the whole pan and throw the feed out.  The cups keep it very stable in the wind also.
The light coming through with the sun is just awesome.  Not to mention the light cast on the ground with the sun offset from above.  Just like stained glass.
More to come!

More upcycled bird feeders using old plastic, municipal traffic light lens (12 inch!!) and some old muffin pans.
