Heres a close-up of the desk surface. I think thats mahogany under the black paint. Theres a dark green hiding under that black, too.
The bar cart is teak. Maybe from the 60s or 70s? I think the desk is mahogany. Its very old, but Im not sure just how old. Anyone care to hazard a guess?
Check out the desk drawer.
How cool is that pull? I think its original to the desk.

The week is just two days old, and I've drummed up these two treasures on my way to work. I can't wait to get on refinishing them.

Oak was last week's theme; I found an oak chair for my office, and an old oak butcher block desk top, which will become a coffee table for my house. A super-old oak vanity that was damaged beyond repair yielded some incredible planks and drawer fronts that I'll use to complete a drop-front desk that's missing its drawer.
