I used double, matching vintage plates for this feeder to give it some extra size for birds of all sizes.
I loved to colors of this blue and yellow/gold vintage plate. Makes for a nice pocket feeder or to store matches or any other small items.
This silverplate clamshell tray was perfect for a feeder. I really like how the offset handle works. I incorporated an heavy brass finial at the bottom to work as a counterweight for when those heavier birds come in, they won't throw the feed off the tray.
The brass leaves came off a retro piece of wall metal art. The handle came off an old brass candle holder.
The side perch is part of an old trumpet.
This feeder was made with a more recent, aluminum plate. The reflectivity of the finish in the green paint was much more brilliant though.
This triple-sectioned serving dish was perfect for a feeder. I pulled the glass globe from an old light fixture and drip painted the interior with some clear emaerald paint. The rest is silverplate keys from a decorative napkinring set, some brass leaves from some retro wall art and more.

Some more recent upcycled bird feeders!
