For our kitchen makeover, I found this really cute idea online of using twigs and branches for curtain rods.  I just cut some off of our sycamore tree and painted the with leftover trim paint.

I made the curtains from a flocked taffeta fabric that I just loved when I saw it in Joann's.  This was my first attempt at making my own draperies but I think they turned out fine.

We have our house in the city and a log cabin in the country but, since we live in town 90% of the time, I try to incorporate as much of the "outdoorsy" stuff into this house to keep hubby happy.  I love to blend his type with mine.  Hence, the twiggy curtain rods with the taffeta flocked curtains.
