My finished shelves!  I love them.  I have a thing for plates and trays.
Before.  Two wooden sconces I bought a very long time ago at a yard sale for a quarter and a cabinet door I bought at the Restore for $1.00.  (Id planned to use the candle holder but changed my mind.)
Can you find the paint stirrers?
When my hubby cut the cabinet door in half, this is what the ends looked like.  I had no room to spare so I needed a really thin piece of wood to cover this ugly part.
Paint stirrers to the rescue!  I always keep extras around and have used them on other occassions too.

My husband and I are almost finished with our kitchen makeover and were able to make these shelves from junk I had in my stash.  With a cabinet door from the Habitat for Humanity Restore and a pair of sconces from a yard sale, we were able to make this little shelving unit.  Hubby added a dowel from an old curtain rod for extra support.  Yay!
