Thread is so perfectly simple.
That quickly become a tangled mess.
This is what I mean by the beauty of thread.
Here they are all lined up, wearing their jewels.
Once threaded onto the twine it makes for an unusual garland that will be homey, colorful and festive. I have it here on a table in the shop, with this cool giant wooden vice and the canvas part of a cot that I used as a table runner. But this will be coming home with me!

I know that we have all run across tons of thread, right? Wooden spools, with vibrant colors, tangled together in bags or boxes at evey tag sale, thrift store, and sometimes in your own home. I decided to make a garland out of several bags that I bought at a sale for $2 each. I used glitter-glue in various colors to keep the thread from unraveling and it added a bit of sparkle to each spool. After drying I threaded them onto some twine and tied a knot after each one for separation. This will be used on my little cottage-sized Christmas Tree that I have yet to purchase...but we all get the idea.

Did you make this?

FrillSeekerz writes: A much better idea than storing unraveling spools along with jewelry findings and then expecting your goods to be sorted and organized! Will have to try this one....
