Wine Bottle Mosaic - Slumped Wine Bottle & GlassNovember 24th, 2011 in member junk
When a friend of mine was replacing the windows in her 80 year-old home, she asked me if I wanted the old windows. I gladly accepted and used one as a frame for this mosaic piece.
An actual wine bottle and glasses were flattened in a kiln and mounted to the window glass. The wine labels were sealed between two pieces of glass before they were grouted. I used a combination of purple and white iridescent glass to serve as the background. Purple glass nuggets made up the grapes.
As a final touch, an antique corkscrew was added to the bottom of the frame. I had a lot of fun with this project!
