Tough Truck Gets a Makeover
March 27th, 2015 in member junkFriends visiting the old silver mining town of Virginia City in Nevada found this well rusted earth mover dump truck. Knowing how much I love rusty trucks they brought it back for me to plant. I brushed off loose paint & rust, secured the dump function with a chain from the cab to the truck bed. Then cut & installed a wire screen to replace the missing tail gate. I stuffed sheet moss into the wire screen & added dirt to the bed. There was a convenient rusted hole in a lower corner so drainage was built in. The plants were selected to compliment the color & the "tough look" of the truck. Plants are succulents, my art media of choice. This one was FUN.
