My elementary school was demolished about 13 years ago.  My Mom and Dad salved a huge chalkboard and bricks from the school.  I think the school was built in the 1920s.

The chalkboard was green and in really poor condition, a fresh coat of black makes it functional again.  The Scrabble tile tray is now my chalk holder, and a piece of vintage ceiling tin is now my magnetic memo holder.  Even though the school is no longer standing I still have fond memories.
