This weekend I took part in a recycled art workshop in Perth, Western Australia, and came home with a couple of strange creations. This one is the drummer. I did it on day one and the really weird thing is I was just doing the final touches and a rasta drumming group started playing next door. Was like I conjured them into existence :) The construction is wire, newspaper, rag, nylon and plant matter. btw it DOES have a horse's head...
Second day we had to bring some junk from home and make something from it. Since I was staying at my daughters new home, she'd just moved into, there was not a lot to choose from. This is what I came up with. It's called Basket Bird.
This is an assembalge I made a few weeks ago. It's made from a Caterpillar Bulldozer oil filter and it's called Hope.
This assemblage I made from rescued junk from the rubbish tip. It's called The Queen and the Soldier. Inside the cage is a cat's skull. Bit creepy but it looks ok.
This assemblage was a follow on from the last. I love how a new work becomes a catalyst for another and so a series is born :)

As an artist I usually paint, but when I get an urge, especially between commissions, I like to create junk art. As a seller it is starting to run neck and neck.
