Upcycled Old Sewing Machine

This poor old sewing machine had seen better days.
It took quite a bit of elbow grease to get this stitch indicator plate off.
The natural shape of the stitch indicator plate was perfect for a bracelet. I added several vintage buttons and extra chain links to make it adjustable. Much better as a bracelet!!
The tension gauge came off with the help of some WD40.
The little hand came off separately, so I glued it in place along with a vintage rhinestone button.  I punched a small hole in the bottom and added a crystal bead.  Much better as a necklace.

I knew this rusty, dusty, spider web infested antique White Rotary sewing machine still had some life left in it.

The parts that keep it from sitting flat will help it sit in the ground. I'm planning to do this myself next spring with one I have leftover from several projects. Now I'll have to check it again for little pieces that might come off and make jewelry first! ;-) Thanks for the great idea! Sewing machines are among my favorite things!!
