I think that the planter is some sort of dairy implement.  I have used it as a herb garden for years.  I recently found a section of a farm fence and paired them together along w/ the sign.
This sign I found on a walk.  No chidding, what you see is exactly what was printed on it!  It made me smile when I saw it,so I had to have it.  The only drag was carrying it a half-mile out of the woods and back home! Its actually a lid to metal barrel.  In spite of the words, we have nite parties and let the crazies in all the time!!

An old sign,a dairy implement, a section of a farm fence and... viola', I have a great garden display!  I love the look and love that the herb garden is right out my back door!
