Country Gardens Summer Issue On Newsstands Now!June 19th, 2011 in blog
This story was a blast to create and even more fun to shoot! We had two handfuls of kids and their Moms on board to help us out for the day. What do you get when you cross a bunch of little ones, croquet mallets, and open ground. I think you can imagine! The behind the scene antics always take on a story of their own.
The beauty of these lifestyle stories is that we actually live them as if they were real. We play games, we socialize, and we eat, drink, and most definitely be merry! The best thing that comes from this is that t the joy of the experience shows up in the images taken by the photographer. You can't fake that...those smiles are real! We had lemonade spills, dessert mishaps, and wardrobe malfunctions due to falling raspberries. Sounds like a real life afternoon get together to me!
I am very passionate about these entertaining stories and truly appreciate all those who help make them a reality. The entire crew from Country Gardens is second to none. Lannete Lorsung is an un "sung" hero in this issue. She helped me every step of the way. Thanks Lani Banani! Otten Brothers was as generous as always and supplied all of the beautiful planting materials needed to round out the feature. The property owners were very gracious. They even let me drive their Gator to get all of the props needed from the driveway to the backyard. Hmmm...me and a Gator. That should conjure up some laughable moments for all of you. Country Cake Cupboard of Long Lake, MN supplied the fabulous food. Make sure to catch the sandwich loaf. I wanted vintage food to go along with the story. The families and my friends who participated were all amazing! Thanks so much to all! Hope you enjoy the story and get some ideas for your nest garden party!
