This vintage mantle was the $15.00 at a local junk shop.  The size was perfect and a little elbow grease and a coat of paint gave us a hot headboard!

My brother thought I was nuts when I drug this mantle home, but my wife knew right away what I had planned.  The width was perfect for our queen sized bed.  A piece of old plywood filled the opening and a coat of paint spruced it up.  Everyone that sees it thinks it's slick.
