We had a headboard we got at an auction for $1.00  We tore it apart and repurposed everything.  We cut the headboard down, painted it black, applied vinyl decals for lettering, overpainted with white then removed the decals to let the black show through.  We've distressed it and it hangs proudly outside our shop.  Total cost as $21.00!

Beautiful! Just love the shape of the headboard. You couldn't have chosen a more perfect base for one lovely sign. :)
