MWHP (My Wonderful Hubby Phil) found this treasure of a desk and put it on 2x4s to help stablize it.
Where troubles melt like lemondrops... Ok, I love quotes!
The typewriter was a great bargain because the carrier wouldnt stay, itd fly back to return if you hit a key.
The slate is actually a coaster I made (thought itd be an appropriate coaster for a desk)
Before and after side by sides of the little chalkboards I vintaged up by distressing and staining to use as coasters. (very, very fun project I must say!)
I used white acrylic paint to give the dusty chalk look to the blackboard part.
A sweet little School Days chalkware figurine, and a globe I literally grabbed up from my mother-in-laws yard sale. I used my favorite antiquing gel on the globe to give it a little more aged look. And its sitting on (what else)  great old school books!

Really what a great way to describe junking too. And this works for my vintage desk which has become an end table, as well as seating for my girls to use for getting shoes on etc right by the front door (desk, ruled paper quote, ok, maybe a stretch, but I like it!)

I very stupidly traded it for some cushions to make an overstuffed chair for my son and I haven't the SLIGHTEST clue how to make the chair and don't know that I ever will. I really wish I would have just kept the desk, especially when I see stuff like this! It's fabulous. If I ever get my hands on another desk, I am doing this with it. Posted: 5:06 pm on March 24th
