please forgive my messy apartment in the background. I love the way this turned out but I dont have a place to keep it right now, so i just hung in my living room to take the picture.

Some time ago, I  saw a project in a magazine about making a simple, light canopy to hang in the backyard to read under, and just relax underneath (there were also instructions how to make a thin little mattress to lie on while reading/relaxing). They used a pretty sheet for it, and even though I dont have a yard or house, I really wanted to make one.

I found the materials at Goodwill. The sheet is much prettier in person- it has pink roses printed all over it. The picture doesn't do it justice. I used a white satin ribbon from my stash to hang it.

This would look so pretty in a yard on as summer day, or in a little girl's bedroom as a bed canopy or a 'reading nook' with some cushions and pillows underneath it.

I wish i had to nice room to display it in, but I wanted to share it with ya'll before I fold it up and put it away in the linen closet.
