Some Japanese washi tape (great stuff this!) to hide the rough edges
An elastic band glued on the back and a couple of staples to secure.
A smaller bit of elastic inside to hold the Kindle in place

I received a Kindle for Christmas and have been looking for just the right cover...so many choices and the ones I want are expensive. Finally came up with the idea of making one out of a thrift store book.  Something about destroying a book seemed sacrilegious but did it anyway in the name of recyling.   This one is for a friend; I made another cover for myself, using Velcro instead of elastic to hold the Kindle.
