Updated 70's typewriter stand...
It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint and "aged" wine labels can do!

I didn't buy wine labels off Ebay as I've done in the past. Instead I downloaded free labels off a site on the Internet and printed them on my color printer. I adhered them with glue. After smoothing out any bubbles, I lightly sanded the top and applied gel stain for an aged look. There's also 2-3 coats of poly on top for protection.

I can't believe I didn't take a "before" picture, but this typewriter stand was grey and a bit rusty. Now, normally I am all for the industrial look, (and rust too), but I decided to go for a different "look" this time...

These typewriter stands work great as a wine cart as they are on wheels, the sides fold down and they don't take up alot of space in a room. So, for a small home or apartment living they're the perfect size. Just roll out when guests arrive...

I decided the bottom needed a "shelf" for holding wine bottles (of course!) Rather than using a boring board, I took a decorative piece from an old stove and attached it with heavy gauge wire.

This typewriter stand had a cute little drawer. I thought it need a knob though, so I added a shabby one.
