ANTIQUE DOOR ON A CABINET MY HUSBAND BUILT. HE USED WHITE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN THE UPPER HALF OF THE DOOR. IT WAS CHEAPER THAN ROPE LIGHT. I PAINTED THE CAB TO MATCH THE ORIGINAL PAINT ON THE DOOR AND THEN GLAZED THE DOOR AND CABINET TO BLEND. I LET THE GLAZED POOL IN THE CREVICES OF THE DOOR UNTIL DRIED. I HAVE A BARN WITH SEVERAL OLD DOORS THAT WE ARE DOING, EACH HAVING THEIR OWN COLOR AND NO TWO ARE ALIKE. I LOVE IT

THIS IS A DISPLAY CABINET USING AN ANTIQUE DOOR. MY HUSBAND MADE THE CABINET USING PLYWOOD,MOLDING,CHRISTMAS LIGHTS,AND OAK VENNEER FOR THE SIDE PANELS.

curious writes: WELL GIRLS MY HUSBAND IS A TRUCK DRIVER AND IS ONLY HOME FOR SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HE HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING REMOTELY LIKE THIS!!! SO YOUR HUSBANDS OR EVEN YOU CAN DO THIS. HE DIDN'T HAVE A PATTERN TO GO BY SO YOU CAN DO THIS, THE DEPTH IS 12" THE MOLDING HELPS STABILIZE IT. IF YOUR DOOR IS TOO HEAVY HE SAID YOU CAN MOUNT IT TO THE WALL. HE WANTS TO DO ONE THAT WILL FIT IN THE CORNER. AN OLD SCREEN DOOR AND WINDOW SCREENS MAKE GREAT CABINETS TOO. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SWEET COMMENTS. DENISE Posted: 5:43 pm on January 8th
