So.... just started in the world of "junking" - and we recently moved to a new house. So excited!

My family is in the middle of tearing down an old barn. (Don't worry - we are also going to save a lot of the barn wood.) And found this old farm house solid wood door. LOVED IT! It was in the house I was raised in as a little girl. I took one look at it and thought of using it as a head board right away!

Now, I'm more into the roughed up decor, but my husband likes niced finished items. So I compromised. I figured if he doesn't mind using an old door as our headboard, I'll paint it solid. So with his help we scraped, primed, and painted away. Finished with a nice looking "Hersey Bar"! Loved it. We are still puting some finishing touches, but not bad to start with.

We inherited a very fancy older silver tea set and I stuck it in a closet as it is just not my style but decided that he too needs to be represented in our home and I am that type that I like to not have things stuck away,if it is worth keeping it is worth being a part of our home, so I pulled it out and oh so wanted to leave it in it's tarnished beauty but polished and polished to get it to shining beauty and my compromise, I put some of my pine cones on the tray and in the creamer and will slowly let it go back to it's tarnished beauty. I love pine cones and have them all over the house, even put them in his mother's crystal dish, it is beautiful! So high five for making you both happy, after all it is a home for you both and you both should have things than bring you joy! Posted: 2:39 pm on January 24th
