At my local thrift shop l discovered an authentic Scottish kilt priced at the exact price of $3.96.  The soft wool and lovely grey tartan were very appealing.  It even came with a kilt pin. (good for another project)   I certainly didn't need a kilt, but thought I had to do something with it. I even considered turning it into a Christmas tree skirt.

I didn't remember to take a photo before I picked it all apart with my little seam ripper.  I steam-ironed out ALL the pleats, then backed it with some fleece.  Now it's a warm and cozy throw, and plenty long enough to wrap oneself in!
