These were obviously built in doors with folding benches for space saving.

I found this set of doors on Craigslist!  How cool are they?  The benches are attached to the doors and fold down.  I love 'em, but just can't quite figure out how to effectively use 'em.  Any suggestions?

Soozletew writes: I lived for many years in an old apartment building in Asheville, NC. My kitchen had a fold down/fold in eating area that had doors and benches just like yours. They were sturdy and easy to use. There was also another door beside them that housed an ironing board!

Could you make one long bench from the bench pieces? I'd love the doors for shutters on the side of a large window. Like I said before great find!

You may want to consider taking them apart and make use of them as separate pieces. Everyone can use a few extra benches around the house and the doors can be used decoratively or as table tops or as headboard etc.
