I had these ceramic chess pieces in my basement for years and didn't know what to do with them. I didn't have a full set as 2 pawns were missing. So my very intelligient sister suggested that I make bookends...WOW...turned out great! I needed to weigh them down, so I put in a bit of drywall compound in the top and then added some rocks and put more compound on top of the rocks. Glued them to wood bookends that hubby made and presto instant beauty. I found a shop in my area that agreed to sell my stuff so I am having a lot of fun coming up with junking ideas.
