This one is called Lifes a Beach and it is quite large 3ft x 3ft...took a very long time to paint...the sand pail has real sand glued on top and the sandcastle was painted using stone glaze with sand colour paint added to it...it stands out in a crowd thats for sure!
This one is called Dog Park and I call it sketch painting...I am still trying to find my style of painting and I seem to like this style.
This one is called Earthquake in Tokyo and can you see the grasshopper with my signature?
I had great fun painting this one...it is called Circus Family and all the circus people are off to work as a racoon is left behind in the trailer looking out of the window. Can you name all the characters?
This painting is symbolic, I call it The Carnival The lady has real mink glued to the canvas as her shawl. The creepy jester behide her (which she doesnt know is there) and the lion in front protecting her...the balloons were the final touch. The frame of course had to be a carnival tent.

This one is called "Life's a Beach" and it is quite large 3ft x 3ft...took a very long time to paint...the sand pail has real sand glued on top and the sandcastle was painted using stone glaze with sand colour paint added to it...it stands out in a crowd that's for sure!

We attended my very first art show yesterday and I thought I would share some of my recent paintings (2010). I have never tried to sell a painting so this was all new to me...it was fun and I had good comments on my paintings. The art gallery where the show was held is very nice and someday (hopefully) I can showcase my art at the gallery. It was very, very windy at the show as it was held outside and off of Lake Huron...one of my junk windows blew over and broke and everything after that was tied down or taped down (thank goodness for the vendor beside me, because I didn't have masking tape so he gave me his to borrow) I didn't sell a painting, but I didn't expect to either...I did sell my barnboard birdhouses and teacup chandalier.

I also paint in real life but I don't really like to...I find it very boring and I can't seem to stay focused and loose interest fast...:) Thanks to all of you guys on JMS you give me such inspiration and get my creative thoughts going...

Grasshopper22 writes: Thanks guys for your comments it definitely gives me self confidence...it was really weird displaying my paintings. It was like being naked in front of a crowd (that's about the only way I can explain it) Your not really quite sure of yourself or what others will think about your work. I should do some calmer paintings but they always turn out to be somewhat strange... :)

Thanks again... Posted: 12:08 pm on July 20th
