Covering up an Old Leather Top of a TableJuly 6th, 2010 in member junk
I got this table for free as one of the x-stretchers broke. All I had to do was reglue the piece to the bottom and t figure out what to do with the round painted leather piece on the top of the table. Originally it was crackled and missing chunks of paint which I first tried to fill in with ivory crackled paint, but that did not look right. So I went through my stash of paper epherma and found some National Geographic maps from 1938. I decoupaged a section of europe on the table, antiqued it and varnish it. I put it in my booth on Friday afternoon and it sold on Saturday! Woo Hoo!
