Primitive Flag

I've had this idea for a flag for several years, but needed to find the perfect piece of wood.  A couple of months ago, my husband took apart an old shelf, and tossed the wood into the garbage.  I rescued it with no particular project in mind, just because i liked it.  He saw it in the garage and threw it out again.  I noticed it and saved it AGAIN.  And he threw it out ...again.  When I took it out of the trash for the third time, I warned him to LEAVE MY WOOD ALONE!  When I cleaned it up, I realized I finally had the wood I'd been waiting for to make my flag.  The buttons are glued and nailed, and the colors are showing up just a bit more muted than they actually are.  I haven't decided if I want it inside or outside yet, but thought Memorial Day would be a good day to share this project.
